An Annual Design Maintenance Agreement (ADMA) is required for maintenance on database websites. Database maintenance is defined as work performed with the intent of keeping website content fresh and up-to-date (includes both dynamic and static pages). Adding new features and functionality to the database is not considered to be maintenance and will be charged separately.
If you are the owner or manager of a database website, please familiarize yourself with the following information:
Maintenance:
- We reserve the right to distinguish between “updates to existing content” and “new design work”.
- Updates to websites generally take 2-3 business days to schedule and complete; however, they can take more or less time depending on our workload, the extent of the changes requested, and holiday scheduling. Urgent requests will receive immediate priority.
- Time spent interpreting maintenance requests is considered part of the design process and will be added to the time it takes to make the change. This includes telephone consultation with you or a third-party consultant.
- You are responsible for the time we spend making changes deemed by management to be due to incomplete or misleading directions.
- All changes take a minimum of 12 minutes to complete. This is the minimum amount of time for which we will bill for each change.
- Time spent researching disputed website changes (time spent) that have already been addressed by these policies will be charged to your maintenance minutes. Design or billing errors deemed Blizzard’s responsibility will be corrected at no charge.
- Occasionally Blizzard will proactively correct errors or add optimization (keywords and/or metatags). We will only make corrections proactively when there is a pressing issue involving the website and its functionality. This time will be charged to your maintenance minutes.
- Incorporating certain technical elements (such as virtual tours) may incur additional costs (more time is necessary to edit the website live on the Internet).
- We reserve the right to request you present us with the desired changes in an alternate format.
- We will do our best to accommodate and work with third-party companies (your graphic designer, hosting company, consultant, etc.), but reserve the right to apply a surcharge if communication with the third party becomes overly time consuming or unproductive. Note: You are completely responsible for the time we spend making changes requested by your consultant.
- Companies who provide free tracking software may change their format from time to time. If those changes require reconfiguration or re-installation, additional time may be charged to your account.
If you have FTP Access:
More and more customers wish to become responsible for maintaining specific portions of their website. While this may be practical and fun for some, it is difficult for others - particularly those who don’t have knowledge of HTML and FTP. We encourage customers who want to attempt to maintain their website, but by no means guarantee a successful experience! An Annual Design Maintenance Agreement (ADMA) is required for us to work on your site.
The policies in this section apply specifically to the customer who wants to be either partially or entirely responsible for editing and maintaining their website. Additional policies on our Design Department Maintenance Policies Page may also apply.
- The customer is responsible for maintaining a current backup copy of the website.
- We reserve the right to apply a surcharge if you want us to teach you how to make the updates or how to FTP. We are available to help, and often do, but reserve the right to charge for our time. We do not support all FTP or HTML editing software and provide limited support for the Mac OS.
- You may contact us if you experience any problems. We will diagnose the situation, solve any issue on our end, and try to offer suggestions if the problem lies elsewhere.
- All general design or maintenance work, whether requested as an “emergency” or otherwise, will be billed to your ADMA.
- Time spent recreating data or pages corrupted or lost due to your efforts (or your designer’s efforts) while updating your site will be billed to an ADMA.
Questions? - Feel free to contact our Design Department at design@blizzardinternet.com with any questions you have regarding our design material requirements.
